Miss Saigon - Kim + Chris

A deviation for ; I asked her if she wanted some Miss Saigon fanart from me, because she hasn't discovered Miss Saigon yet. D:

I do believe I haven't talked much about Miss Saigon on here (or at all D, so first I'll give you my opinion on it: after Les Mis, this is my second favourite musical of all time. I want them to revive it in the West End, just so I can play Kim. Seriously, I know all of her lines already, just need to get on the stage and sing them.
I discovered Saigon when I was 9, actually; one of the songs on my big musicals compilation boxset was 'The Last Night of the World', which I sang for days on end. It was only until March of this year that I got the soundtrack, and oh my God, it's just the most fantastic musical, with the beautiful Lea Salonga as Kim And I literally mean it when I say ever since the end of July, I have been listening to it on a loop. Seriously. That is how much I love this musical.

So anyway, this drawing is of the two main character, Kim and Chris; yes, they're supposed to have those expressions. The lyric is from 'Sun and Moon' another gorgeous song (which I will be recording myself singing on YouTube soon!). When I first drew this, I thought it looked awful, but it's not as bad as I thought; I hate my scanner, making every colour brighter than it should be so Chris' hair and Kim's shirt are practically orange :/ Chris took forever to draw; at first I drew him looking down at Kim, but he looked freaked out/irritated by her, if you get what I mean. So I had him looking away. I wasn't sure whether to draw Kim smiling or not; I think there's the slightest hint of a smile, I don't know
